Hey all, long time no blog i know, but i'm snowed under with work, and exams, crazy crazy busy! But i decided enough is enough, and i'd give you another snippet into my world....
But, after a while we get talking about the inevitable (apparently) - the walk in wardrobe Big gets for Carrie, and how amazing it would be to have one.
But, the more i think about it, all my clothes can sit in a box. Really, i'm not that precious about any of them! Sure, i love my clothes and all that, but given the choice of what to do with a space i can think of something much more exciting... much more me - something i'm gonna drool over...
I would LOVE literally L-O-V-E a room just for me, i can see it now...
A rectangular room, quite long and thin, white washed floors (impractical i know, but will soon be covered with paint..), white walls, black grid shelves for my vinyl collection (which by the time i can afford anything like this will be ma-hooooo-sive!), not forgetting my record player of course, the love of my life!
A huge squishy black leather sofa sits in the middle of the room, there's a huge window at one end to let in loads of light coz at the other end of the room is gonna be my easel, paints and art stuff for kick ass creativeness...

I'll sit, listen to the most amazing albums ever recorded, be inspired, reflective, block out the world, and do what I love most, take some time out for me...
....I can dream can't I!
Wouldn't it be nice? I think everyone needs their own personalised 'sanctuary' space, but not many people are lucky enough to get it! Your dream room sounds lovely..I'm sure you'll get it someday! For me it would have to be a massive, luxury bathroom, freestanding bath, huge vanity unit, soft lighting massive jars of lillies around, some way of playing music...and a massive lock on the door! And preferably self-cleaning lol

My mum's got an awesome bathroom - the problem of music being electricity and therefore electricity + water = problem is solved easily with speakers in the ceiling wired into another room for input! Although they had the whole house to renovate when they moved in so wiring wasn't a problem..but still, it's a pretty cool solution!

Damn! You are like the baby sister I always wanted! Now, I don't mean to make you jealous but a few years ago, I bought a condo. It ain't huge, but it had 3 bdrms and a "den" (technically an alcove). My munificent wife bestowed a gift upon me. My own music room. One entire wall of Vinyl (I own over 2000 titles) and CD's (you don't even want to know).I have 2 Technics turntables and 2 CD players to the right and left of a mixer which sits atop an analog-to-digital burner, and yes, a dual tape deck. Another small desk holds my computer, and I am in my sanctuary. Even my dog loves to join me in there. I wish it for you too.

ReplyDeleteAnd over 2000 records?!?!? I have like 12! haha Half of which are my dad's old ones too which skip :o( I can remember me and my brother when we were little playing jump and make the record skip - eugh! - oh how i regret that one now! :o/
